1 John: We love because he first loved us.
Do you remember your first love? I could go back to kindergarten and my first crush or I could go through grade school and all those guys with whom I had crushes. But it's hard to forget your first love. You share everything with your first love, hopes, fears, and dreams, almost to the point of distraction and fantasy.
I think that's what God wants from us. He wants us to share our hopes, fears, and dreams with Him. He wants to be our first love, our everything. She's loved us from the beginning.
I was thinking a little about yesterday's post about perfect love having no fear, and I recalled a love such as that, one without fear. Once, I made the conscious decision to love with my whole heart, whether it got broken or not. I wasn't going to hold anything back. Anything that popped into my head came out of my mouth. No filter, no second guessing, no doubt, no fear.
I never doubted his love. I didn't question his fidelity. It was not a perfect love because only God's love is truly perfect, but it was a true love.
Today, may we spend a little more time in God's perfect love, knowing that we can love Him fully, no holding back. May we love Him without doubt or fear and share our everything with Her.
